@SirRumpelstiltskin if you want untethered for os 4, go to jailbreakme . com on your device. it is untethered, and that’s how i jailbroke mine.

  • SirRumpelstiltskin says:

This works for iPod 3rd Generation with OS4 correct? And it’s not a tether jailbreak?

dude iv updated my ipod 3g frm i tunes soo i cnt find dat firmware thing dat u do in da begnin

  • PieLighter says:

@GMSnintendoman So this will definitely work on an iPod Touch 3G MC, with iOS4?
And as for DFU mode, I saw you were holding down Home until a white screen appeared.
I mistakenly tried to JB it when I thought it wasn’t an MC model, maybe that was the problem. I managed to unbrick it by holding down Power and Home for 10 secs, though.

  • GMSnintendoman says:

@PieLighter Just put it in DFU mode again while its at that screen, after that, then do the DFU process again then try it jailbreaking it again.

  • PieLighter says:

OK, I got the iTouch 3G running OS 4 into DFU mode again, and even though I keep holding the home button, it does not get past “waiting for reboot”. help?

  • PieLighter says:

    @PieLighter Dont worry

  • PieLighter says:

The jailbreak froze while waiting for reboot (after the put in DFU mode) I have no idea how to get it out of DFU mode.

  • PieLighter says:

Holy crap that looks so easy! =D

  • IDocI says:

At the point in the video when the ipod has a white screen, mine has a black screen. redsnow says it’s waiting for reboot but my ipod does not reboot. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

  • GMSnintendoman says:

@starryknite1 Put it in DFU mode again, then take it out of DFU mode then it should boot up again, and then go through the process again.

  • starryknite1 says:

    Quick question:
Works fine for me except as Im doing it, it just stays on the “Downloading” Screen (for a few minutes) and reboots. It never gets to the “Pineapple Screen.” Any tips?

Hey I have a MC version of the 3G Ipod touch, I upgraded to IOS4 and I don’t seem to be able to find a way to jailbreak it. I have read that you should be able to downgrade to 3.1.2 but when I tried this Itunes advises it was unable to do this due to new version being on it. I tried to downgrade Itunes but I got an error at the end of the install saying library was created by a newer version. Is there a way to jailbreak ipod touch 3G MC version with has OS4 on it currently?
